- I respectfully disagree retired40. Until a playoff is devised, then in any year the BCS Champion = National Champion. This year, regardless of how you feel about the current system, no one can seriously question that whoever wins on January 7 will be the best team in America.

- I'm too Crimson to be objective -- but I have to admit Alabama has not done everything yet it needs to do to prove it is #1. Since the stars line up up for the top two teams to play in the BCS Chamionship, this will be a year theory and analysis will be meangless.

- I'm not even voting because I'm highly Alabama biased and cannot be objective -- and since the top 3 are correct, in the current system and with this year's circumstances this is all we can ask. The shame would be if the possibility of how Auburn was shafted in 2004 could recur.

- The idea that #1 should stay #1 so long as they keep winning is right only if week to week play validates the ranking. Easy example: if #1 squeaks by weak teams while #2 clobbers strong teams then obviously a reconsideration is in order.
